ronman Louisville will offer 50 age group qualifying slots to the 2012 Ironman World Championship, taking place on Oct. 13 in Kailua-Kona, Hawai'i. There will be a prize purse of $25,000 for distribution among the top professional male and female finishers.

Ironman Louisville takes athletes along a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.2-mile run and utilizes a variety of Louisville’s scenic venues and neighborhoods, including Waterfront Park, Churchill Downs, Univ. of Louisville campus, plus the city of LaGrange and Oldham and Henry Counties (bike course). The journey ends with a finish line celebration at Fourth Street Live in the heart of downtown Louisville.
