Flamenco dance, music and song - and costumes!
Back for their third Noche Flamenco at the Uncle, FLAMENCO LOUISVILLE is the oldest flamenco organization in the area, dedicated to providing an inclusive, community-oriented home for performers, students, and aficionados of this passionate art form. A style of music and dance that originated in the Andalusian region of Spain, Flamenco combines singing, guitar and percussion and elevates it to an extraordinary level. No stranger to Louisville's WorldFest and known for their recent six-year run of "Spanish Night at Blu" Mediterranean restaurant, FL is "dedicated to the life of our art, and to having the arts in our lives." Co-founder Diana Dinicola and many company members travel annually to Seville, Spain to study in the region of Andalucía, the “cradle of flamenco,” bringing firsthand experience of this 500-year-old tradition and Spanish culture back home to the Bluegrass. Come on out for Louisville's own tablao-style 'night of Flamenco' complete with house-made sangria and light tapas on tap - OLE!
