Flame Run Glass Studio and Gallery celebrates the contemporary glass bead movement with an exhibit of beads by artists from across the world from July 29 through Sept. 17 in coordination with the International Society of Glass Beadmakers. An opening night reception begins at 6 p.m.
The juried exhibit includes 59 beads, ranging in size from one inch to twelve inches wide. The glass beads contain layers that create visible depth using glass, metal, etching, enamels, reactive glass, complex stringer work and more.
More than 1,700 artists from across the world belong to the International Society of Glass Beadmakers.
The exhibit will open while the International Society of Glass Beadmakers hosts its 19th annual conference in Louisville from July 27 to July 31, 2011. This year's theme is "Diversity and Creativity: Cultural Influences in Glass Beadmaking".
