Louisville comics Janelle Fitzpatrick and Teresa Trimble McCammon return with their fourth annual competition for female comics. This year's competition is sponsored by Bradley's Carpet Outlet in Jeffersonville, Indiana and will be held at the Bard's Town in the Highlands of Louisville, Kentucky. The two comediennes will be switching off to emcee the events.
There will be two qualifying rounds: the first on July 6 and another following on July 13. The finals will be July 26 and will feature a headline act by Donna Watts, who hosts "The Donna Watts Show" on Crescent Hill Radio.. The first place winner walks away with $150; second place will get $100. Audience members will choose the finalists and winners by circling their three favorites on ballots.
"No Balls of Meat got its name from a pizza order," said Fitzpatrick. "...Teresa McCammon and I called the sausage that comes on pizza 'little balls of meat.' This led to a running joke and then to the appropriate name for an all female comedy contest. Along with $150 for the winner, comes the coveted NO Meatball Trophy."
