Abbey Road on the River will celebrate the beginning of the British Invasion by hosting February ‘64 – a 3-day concert event held February 7-9, 2014 at the Muhammad Ali Center and the Kentucky Center for the Arts. The festival will include performances by twelve bands including co-headliners Britbeat from Chicago and The Jukebox from Puerto Rico, as well as the Steve Sizemore Group, Mario DaSilva, The Cryers, Blue Jay Way, the Traveling Beatleburys, and Louisville’s own Johnny Doughnut Experience, Nervous Melvin and the Mistakes, The Rigbys, Whiplash, and Nick Peay. The highlight of the weekend will be a reenactment of The Beatles’ historic performance on the Ed Sullivan Show, complete with commercials from the 1960’s, a magician, a comedian, fiddlers, and of course, an Ed Sullivan impersonator to host the show.
