Verdi’s romantic comedy is set in Windsor in 1602. Falstaff (played by award winning singers Reginald Smith, Jr. and Jonathan Green) sees himself as the "Don Juan" of Windsor who is running low on drinking money; he seeks to win, from two wealthy married ladies, affection and funding by sending them identical love-letters. Throw in a jealous husband, a mischievous gossip, a subplot involving forbidden young lovers and the result is comedic chaos and a delightful performance including some of the most glorious melodies ever written. Sung in Italian with English supertitles.
