Local environmental educator/activist Sarah Lynn Cunningham, University of Louisville professor Paul Simmons and environmental sustainability proponent Samuel Avery will deliver presentations and lead discussions that focus on how religious leaders can respond to these issues in accord with their respective religious beliefs and practices.

Symposium goals include:

• Assist religious leaders and others to understand better the new energy infrastructures cropping up all over the nation that are requiring major new pipelines and are causing significant ecological and human safety disasters.
• Develop connections and build relationships across faith communities for responsible land stewardship by communities of faith in our region.
• Model generative conversations about stewardship of land within faith communities.
• Provide information and resources which help strengthen the commitment of participants to influence and advocate leadership for responsible stewardship of land owned by each faith community represented.
• Gain public support for responsible land stewardship in the broader community.

The event is open to all who wish to attend. Cost is $25 and includes lunch. Registrations must be received by Monday, November 11.
