For the 26th consecutive year, the ladies of the Pi Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Derby City Tea Rose Foundation are pleased to present Men Who Cook Extravaganza on Saturday, June 15, 2013. This signature fundraising event will feature the culinary offerings of over 40 of Louisville’s finest amateur and professional cooks, competing in one of six categories (Appetizer, Entrée, Side Dish, Healthy Choice, Dessert, and Professional) for the “judges,” or audience of up to 400. Guests, who pay $35 for a ticket in advance to one of the sorority members ($40 at the door), will be able to sink their teeth into these tasty delights, after which they can vote for their favorites, crowning the 2013 Men Who Cook Champions in each category. Derby City Men Who Cook is one of Louisville’s most established and unique dining experiences, with guests having the opportunity to taste over 40 dishes, enjoy on-site culinary demonstrations, and network while they enjoy entertainment. This affair also offers guests an opportunity to win a variety of door prizes that will be distributed at the event. We are honored to welcome Herlon Robinson (Magic 101.3 FM) and Dawne Gee (WAVE-3 TV) as co-hosts of this year’s event.
