Louisville, Kentucky's Deloreans released their first album, LOVE OUTRAGEOUS, in 2009. Led by Jeremy Perry, the then trio focused on tight power pop arrangements with eccentric lyrical subjects leaning toward simple, tight and infectious hooks.
The release of 2011's AMERICAN CRAZE broadened their sound. With the addition of Loren Pilcher (guitar) and Megan Samples (drums), AMERICAN CRAZE was a pastiche of 1960s lush-arranged pop ("Buffalo"), 50s croon ("Gatsby"), and even 70s metal ("Leviathan") and full-orchestra with vocals ("Dear"). With the 2012 addition of synth player (Zach Driscoll) and a new bassist (Kyle Mann), Deloreans' new single "As Long As It's You" is something different for the group.
Not content to continue to dabble in 60's sounds or neo-psychedelia, broader and more modern contexts have been explored. The new Deloreans are more like obsidian: darker and harder without losing their pop sheen.
Deloreans celebrate the release of their brand new GORGEOUS 7" at the Haymarket!
The phrase "burst onto the scene" was coined probably with The Debauchees in mind. Summoning the sounds of 1970s New York City punk not by design or influence, but by providence of sheer genetically-gifted coolness, this is a band that we couldn't begin to say how humbled we are with which to share a bill. They first released the "I've Got Energy" single in October and their debut full-length, "Big Machines and Peculiar Beings", followed in November to some serious acclaim in and out of Louisville.
