Charles Darwin was born February 12, 1809. We will hold a birthday party in his honor. Activities include a cake baking and decorating contest (and free cake to eat), a lecture about The Darwin We Don't Know by Dr. Robert Bevins, Kitchen Sink Science demonstrations you can perform in your own home, and pictures with Charles Darwin! There will be fundraising for Kentuckians for Science Education (KSE), a new organization dedicated to promoting proper science education in Kentucky public schools. KSE will coordinate with the National Center for Science Education in Kentucky.
3:00 - 3:30 – Informal visitation among all in attendance; Vote for best cake at $1 per vote; Pictures with Darwin; visit group tables.
3:30 - 4:30 – Rob Bevins of Ky Science Education will speak on “The Darwin We Don't Know”
4:30 - 5:00 – Cake contest results announced. Eat cake and enjoy refreshments; Pictures with Darwin; visit group tables; visit with all attendants.
5:00 - 5:30 – “Kitchen Sink Science”
5:30 - 6:00 – Eat cake and enjoy refreshments; visit with each other and group tables; Pictures with Darwin.
