Sam and Debbie Thomas will present a slide program highlighting "Crescent Hill: It's History and Resurgence", the companion to his popular book, "Crescent Hill Revisited."

The basis of their narrative remain the oral histories of those who grew up in Crescent Hill and were young when the neighborhood was just emerging.

Their voices are now almost all silent, but their stories still resonate. Maps, newspaper accounts, diaries, and photographs enhance this well researched and documented in new urbanism as it was occurring.

This event is co-sponsored by by the Filson Historical Society and the Louisville Historic League.

Samuel W. Thomas is the author of several books including "The Architectural History of Louisville 1778-1900." He was involved with many local business restorations and is the founder of Preservation Alliance. His wife, editor Deborah McGuffey Thomas, is a former director of the Kentucky Oral History Commission and associate director of Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.
