A community event open to all! Come enjoy a great picture with comfy seating and some popcorn! Every month we show a documentary that informs, inspires and raises money for a charity that pairs well with the theme of the movie. The only "fee" is a suggested donation of $5.
Wasteland is an Academy Award nominee, this amazing true story tells of a successful artist who visits Rio de Jenero and the people who have built their lives around the largest landfill in the world. With their help, he creates amazing art (using trash from the landfill) and sells it for tens of thousands of dollars. Giving the money to the trash workers, he changes the course of their lives.
Donations go to the Louisville Visual Art Association's Open Doors program. It is an umbrella program of classes and art enrichment experiences designed to give a voice to under-served populations including the at-risk youth, refugees and immigrants, senior citizens, victims of domestic abuse and more.
