The Clifton Center, in partnership with Kentucky Refugee Ministries and the Iroquois Branch of the Louisville Public Library, will present "Into the Garden: A Festival of Iraqi Culture, Featuring Rahim AlHaj," a weeklong series of events that begin on Monday, October 6. The celebration will highlight the art and culture of Iraq, culminating with a concert at 8pm on Friday, October 10 by two-time Grammy nominee Rahim AlHaj, who is considered by many to be among the greatest virtuoso oud musicians and composers in the world.
This community gathering is the result of a partnership between the Clifton Center, Kentucky Refugee Ministries, the Iroquois Branch of the Louisville Public Library, our Iraqi refugee friends, and many more. Join us to share Iraqi food, hands-on art activities for children, dance and percussion demonstrations and workshops, all culminating in a jam session featuring Rahim AlHaj and some of Louisville’s finest Iraqi and bluegrass musicians.
