The Episcopal Church Home will host pianist Nada Loutfi and her Classical Hour on Sunday afternoon, August 26 from 4 to 5 PM. The ECH is located at 7504 Westport Rd., next to Westport village. The performance will take place in the Rotunda.
The month of August features french music and the Scherzos by Chopin. This last Sunday's program includes the "Flute Sonata" by Poulenc, Chopin's "Scherzo No. 3," Faure 's "Barcarolle No. 5," and selections by Debussy, Faure, and Gounod, with guest artists flautist Donald Gottlieb from the Louisville Orchestra and tenor Kenji Tashiro.
The Classical Hour is a series of concerts held every Sunday afternoon, which started two and half years ago in the lobby of the Brown Hotel. Inspired by the salon concerts and radio programs which Nada Loutfi used to host regularly at WUOL, it s a welcome adventure in good music. Ms. Loutfi enriches the listeners' experience with interesting insights about pieces and composers.
