Visit an authentic Civil War camp on the downtown Corydon square and see how soldiers lived, worked, and played! The Ohio Valley Civil War Association will be encamped on the downtown square and provide demonstrations on marching, rifle firing, cooking, and cannon loading and firing. Take part in an authentic Civil War cricket match to see how soldiers enjoyed themselves in their time off. Explore their camp and ask questions about their museum-quality displays. Rifle and cannon firing demonstrations are at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm on Saturday. This event is entirely free and open to the public! While you are there, take a tour of Indiana's first State Capitol building, constructed in 1816. This year marks the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Corydon, Indiana's only Civil War battle. Come see where it happened and learn what it was like to be a soldier during the war!
