Chu-Fang Huang plays Mozart with the Louisville Orchestra and Music Director Emeritus, Jorge Mester
The Louisville Orchestra begins 2015 with Music Director Emeritus, Jorge Mester and pianist, Chu-Fang Huang on Thursday, January 15 at 10:30 AM for the Treyton Oak Towers Coffee concert and Friday, January 16 at 8 PM for the Hilliard Lyons Classics concert at the Kentucky Center’s Whitney Hall.
Maurice Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite will be at the top of the program. The concert continues with Ms. Huang performing (arguably) one of Mozart’s’ greatest piano concertos, No. 18 which was composed for the blind virtuosa, Maria Theresia Paradis. The evening will conclude with Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 6.
Winner of a 2011 Avery Fisher Career Grant, Chu-Fang Huang burst onto the music scene as a brilliant finalist in the 2005 Van Cliburn Piano Competition and as First Prize Winner of the Cleveland Piano Competition that same year. Her career has been skyrocketing ever since. Read her full bio HERE (https://www.louisvilleorchestra.org/press-releases/2014-15-classics-medi...).
