A session of swimming lessons for children ages 4 and up will be held on Monday through Thursday, July 16-26. The lessons will be held at the Baptist East/Milestone Wellness Center.
The Wellness Center aquatic staff teaches the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program, which teaches aquatic and safety skills in a logical progression. The objective of the program is to teach swimmers to be safe in, on and around the water. The program is made up of various skill levels.
The class schedule is as follows:
•Level I (beginners) – 5:30-6 p.m.
•Level II (can put face in water) – 6-6:30 p.m.
•Level III (can swim five yards on front and back) – 6:30-7 p.m.
All classes will be taught by a certified Red Cross water safety instructor. Group lessons will be held at the Hawthorn Suites Hotel Pool, located across the street from the Wellness Center. Children are asked to bring their own towel.
The class costs $70 for members and $80 for non-members. Each child must be pre-registered and the fee must be paid in full prior to each session.
