Seviche will host a dining event featuring dishes from chef/owner Anthony Lamas’ anticipated cookbook, Southern Heat, My Life Through Food on Monday, Aug. 25. The night will begin with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The seven-course dinner with drink pairings is $95 per person, plus tax and gratuity. For reservations, call (502) 473-8560; credit card information is required to secure a seat.
The menu will highlight several local producers, all of whom Lamas has invited to attend, including chef Matt Jamie of Bourbon Barrel Foods; “The Ham Lady” Nancy Newsom of Col. Bill Newsom’s Aged Kentucky Country Ham; Brooke Eckmann of Ambrosia Farm; and master distiller Chris Morris of Woodford Reserve. During the reception, chef Trey Dutton, formerly of Palmetto Bluff, who Lamas first cooked with at a Southern Foodways Alliance dinner, will be offering samples of his new Southern Keep small batch pickles and preserves. The co-writer/photographer duo behind Southern Heat, Gwen and Roger Pratesi, will also be in attendance.
Known for his Southern-infused Latin dishes, the “spicing up the South” chef is excited to share a small taste of what’s to come with the release of his first cookbook in 2015.
“The cookbook explores the details of my culinary journey,” said Lamas. “This dinner is the perfect way to bring light to all the talented people who have influenced me along the way.”
