On Friday, November 1st at 7 PM, we will celebrate the posthumous publication of Sam Thomas's "The Origins of Louisville's Olmsted Parks & Parkways." Samuel W. Thomas, (1938-2012), prolific local historian, is the author of some of the finest books on Louisville history including the landmark "Views of Louisville Since 1766," "The Architectural History of Louisville," "Crescent Hill : It's History and Resurgence," "Cave Hill Cemetery," and "Cherokee Triangle : A History of the Heart of the Highlands."
Using vivid archival photos and drawings and his always eloquent prose, Thomas's "The Origins of Louisville's Olmsted Parks & Parkways" presents the fascinating history and legacy of Louisville's beloved parks. Gill Holland, publisher, film producer, and one of the major leaders in the green movement, will speak about the book. Please join us for this very special event.
