This year, River Fields will hold a newly themed event, “Celebration in the Country,” on September 6 at Gingerwoods, a historic building and the previous home of Greencastle Baptist Church, which was closely tied to many historic sites that have received preservation funding as a result of River Fields’ work. Gingerwoods is surrounded on all sides by the River Fields’ conservation easement on the Wallace Farm. This 600-acre working farm is preserved from development forever and is the largest in Jefferson County. We can’t think of a better place to gather and celebrate our recent accomplishments!
The evening will include a live and silent, locally sourced food from Chef Kathy Cary and Lilly’s, and dancing to to a local band. Tickets to the evening cost $200 a person. Tickets for only the dessert and dancing portion of the evening are $75. For more information, please call River Fields at 502-583-3060
Without River Fields’ work to protect open spaces and the environment, the Wallace Farm might very well be another subdivision, forever changing the rural landscape of US Highway 42 and Rose Island Road! Our major fundraising event provides us with the needed funds to protect these vital resources in the Ohio River Corridor.
