Sister Simone Campbell, national coordinator of NETWORK, delivers a lecture titled, “Building a Just Church in the 21st Century.” Following her presentation, Sister Simone will respond to concerns that the Catholic Church overlooks justice issues in the country and in the church itself. Catholic groups organized to voice these concerns have been invited to meet with the public attendees and to share information with them.
Envisioning a just church in the 21st Century is the first of a series of conferences organized by Catholics in the Louisville area to promote widespread discussion of justice issues affecting the church, the city, the nation and the world.
This event is being held in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the second Vatican Council (1962-65), which introduced wide-ranging reforms in the Roman Catholic Church.
