BritBeat / Ed Sullivan Beatles 50th Anniversary Concert
Presented by Abbey Road on the River
On February 9th 1964, the world was forever changed when The Beatles made their first live television appearance in the United States on The Ed Sullivan Show on CBS. A record-setting 73 million people tuned in that evening from 8:00-9:00pm to see the lads from Liverpool perform in their Edwardian suits and mop top haircuts, making it one of the defining moments in television history.
Please join our reinterpretation of The Beatles’ historic Ed Sullivan Show appearance on Sunday, February 9th at 8:00pm., exactly 50 years to the minute America came together and began a 50 year love affair with John, Paul, George, and Ringo. The hour long variety show will be recreated in the Kentucky Center for the Arts’ Bomhard Theater and star the renowned Beatle look alike band from Chicago, BritBeat. At the event, fans can relive the night they first saw the Fab Four on television, right down to the commercials that aired during the 1960’s era.
Additional acts will include jugglers, musicians and comics. Immediately following the Ed Sullivan Show reenactment, BritBeat will treat fans to a two hour concert, performing hits that will get the audience up out of their seat and on the dance floor.
