The Bristol Bar and Grille’s corporate wine and beverage director Scott Harper will offer a series of three advanced wine tasting classes presented through Bellarmine University on Mondays from Oct. 10 to 24, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Harper, who is a Master Sommelier and Certified Wine Educator, will guide participants through a lesson on professional tasting techniques and reveal how climate and region affect the flavor nuances in different varietals. All classes take place at the Bristol’s downtown location at 614 W. Main St. The early registration fee is $119 per person or $219 per couple, which includes a $30 charge for materials. Scott Harper is a managing partner and general manager of the Jeffersonville, Indiana location of the Bristol Bar and Grille and is also corporate wine and beverage director, overseeing the award-winning wine programs for all five Bristol locations. He holds the titles of Certified Wine Educator (CWE), which acknowledges an exceptional standard of both academic knowledge and sensory capability in the field of wine, and Master Sommelier, considered by many to be the ultimate professional wine accomplishment. 

Always doing his best to educate and give back to the community, Scott teaches wine courses through the continuing education program at Bellarmine University and also writes for Sophisticated Living Louisville and Food and Dining Louisville. He is a member of the Society of Wine Educators and is licensed through the French Wine Society to teach the curriculum of the French Wine Academy.
