Meet author Debra J. Mumford, Frank H. Caldwell Associate Professor of Homiletics and Associate Dean for Student Academic Affairs at Louisville Seminary, who will speak about her newest book "Exploring Prosperity Preaching: Biblical Health, Wealth and Wisdom" (Judson Press, 2012). Mumford, an ordained minister in the American Baptist Church, traces the roots of prosperity preaching, which examines the appeal of prosperity preaching, a theology which claims that financial wealth and good physical health are the will of God for all Christians and that strong faith, positive thinking, and monetary donations to Christian ministries will increase one's material wealth.
