Bonnie Raitt - best-selling artist, respected guitarist, expressive singer, and accomplished songwriter – is an institution in American music. The nine-time Grammy winner, one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s "100 Greatest Singers of All Time,” returns to the spotlight after a 7-year hiatus with Slipstream, scheduled for release in April 2012 on her own record label.
Throughout her career, Raitt has managed to uphold tradition while exhibiting a certain artistic fluidity. Having built her reputation as a Blues performer, Raitt achieved mainstream success with Nick of Time (1989) and Luck of the Draw (1991). Back-to-back hits like “Nick of Time,” “Have a Heart,” “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” “Something to Talk About,” and “Love Sneakin’ Up on You” helped make Raitt a household name.
Raitt and special guest Marc Cohn are stopping at the Kentucky Center's Whitney Hall on her Slipstream Tour on Mother's Day, May 13. 50 cents of each ticket sold will benefit ARIA: Artistic Resources in Action Foundation.
