This is a friendly competition that demystifies the art of food pairings. We focus less on traditional notions of white with seafood and red with meats, and more on each dish’s acidity and sweetness level. Traditionally, wine has been the best partner for European influenced cuisine but there is a change in the wind. American cuisine has picked up influences from all over Asia and South America, while artisan beer producers have been raising the bar to new standards of excellence. We now have a real duel.
Our chefs will create a four course menu showcasing the best of New American cuisine while our resident sommelier and local Apocalypse Brewers will match their best beverages with dinner. You, as the guest, will sample one beer and one wine with each course and then vote on which pairing wins.
