Louisville, Ky.---Two- and four-legged (canine) members of the community are invited to enjoy a tail-waggin’ good time at the Animal Care Society’s (ACS) Eighth Annual Bark in the Park and Woof Walk at Seneca Park (near the tennis courts).
The day’s schedule of events includes:
8 a.m.: Woof Walk registration begins ($25 donation per walker, early registration)(Day of event $30)
9 a.m.: Woof Walk to benefit the ACS
9:30 a.m.: vendor booths open
9:45 a.m.: Flying Houndz Frizbee Trick Dog Show
10-10:30 a.m.: adoptable pets parade (animals from local shelters)
10:30 a.m.: Dog kissing contest
11 a.m.: Dog agility demonstration
11:30 a.m.: Live music from a local band
noon: Adoptable pet parade and alumni photo sesson (ACS adopted dogs and their owners)
12:30 p.m.: Howl-O-Ween costume contest
1 p.m.: Flying Houndz Frizbee Trick Dog Show
1:30 p.m.: Canine look-alike contest
2 p.m.: police canine unit demonstration
2:30 p.m.: raffle prizes awarded
Food and dog-themed booths, a silent auction and inflatables and games for the kids will round out the fun.
Established in 1984 and located at 12207 Westport Road, east of the Gene Snyder Freeway, the Animal Care Society is a no-kill shelter for dogs and cats.
The Society operates as a private non-profit organization under Section 503 of the Internal Revenue Service code. Annual membership dues, bequests, and donations are tax-deductible to the extent of tax laws. The Society does not receive grants from any local, state or federal agency.
