ArtsWORK-New Albany is presenting a series of free monthly workshops at the Carnegie Center for artists focusing on career development skills and issues faced by artists with disabilities. On Saturday April 23, 2011, from 10-11 am, internationally recognized quilt artist Penny Sisto will present the program “The Quilt I Never Made.” Known for exploring socially challenging subjects such as AIDS, racism and poverty, Ms. Sisto will informally discuss how artists incorporate their own life stories into their work while demonstrating her quilt making techniques. Additionally, she will be sharing several works in progress designated for her upcoming July exhibition Heartbeats, also at the Carnegie Center. Pre-registration required (812-944-7336).
