On Friday, January 13th at 7 PM, please join Carmichael's Bookstore for an event with Kentucky native and young adult author Alecia Whitaker for her book Queen of Kentucky. Her new book is the coming-of-age story of 14-year-old Ricki Jo, a tomboy growing up in a Kentucky farm town who struggles to find her identity somewhere between a country girl and a wannabe country club girl.
