On Sunday, October 19th at 4 PM (at our Frankfort Ave store) Carmichael's welcomes local poet, activist, filmmaker, and photographer Sheri L. Wright for a discussion of her new book "Off the Yellow Brick Road: A Journey of Automotive Rust and Renewal." During a quest throughout the Ohio Valley's junkyards, alleyways and backyards, Ms. Wright captured stunning photographs of vintage Detroit automobiles, whose beauty still endures decades after the patina has been tarnished by rust and the elements.

Sheri Wright is also a documentary filmmaker. Her film "Tracking Fire" chronicles the tragic 1973 Upstairs Lounge fire in New Orleans where over thirty people died.
