Dear Friends of OAK,
Thank you for your past support of OAK. With the help of your donation we were able to raise over $5,000 for Ovarian Awareness of Kentucky (OAK).
As a committee member of Ovarian Awareness of Kentucky (O.A.K.) I want to let you know about our upcoming 10th Annual OAK/ Mary Cooper Memorial Golf Scramble to be held on Saturday, October 19th, at 8:00 a.m. at Iroquois Golf Course, in memory of Mary Cooper who died of cancer in October of 2004.
I am asking you to help make this a special event for us by sponsoring a hole for $100, donating a door prize, or donating 130 gift bag items (tees, golf balls, golf towels, first aid kits, etc.). You may also become a major sponsor of the scramble by donating $300 or more. All major sponsors will have their logo prominently displayed on the scramble poster that will be on display at the welcome center and during the awards banquet.
O.A.K. is a nonprofit 501(C) 3 organization (tax ID# 61-1393292), which was established in 2001 to provide education to the public on early detection of gynecological cancers through seminars, health fairs, and free presentations. We also host monthly support group meetings and events to help survivors on their way to recovery. To learn more about O.A.K., visit our website at www.oakky.org .
Over 25,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year and 14,000 of these women die each year. These numbers are just from ovarian cancer but many more women also die from different types of gynecological cancers. So as you can see more research needs to be done in order to save our women’s lives.
Proceeds from this golf scramble will further our educational forums and fund research for early detection and improve treatment of gynecological cancers. Please help us raise money for this great cause so that other women will not have to go through all the pain and suffering of gynecological cancers like my mom did. If we work together I believe that we have a good chance at giving these wonderful women a chance at life. Please send all donations along with information section from brochure to:
