The Highland Commerce Guild elves are busy planning the Holiday Season with another Get Happy and say Hello to the Highlands Holiday “Open House” celebration on Saturday, December 3, 2011--5:00p 'til 10:00p. This festival of shopping, eating, drinking and merriment is celebrating 26 years of bringing people from all walks of life together. The AGLOW has become a highlight of the Holidays, and the Highlands thank you for spending the first Saturday of every December with them.
Boutiques, eateries, and businesses all along Bardstown Road, Baxter Avenue, Barrett Avenue and the Douglass Loop open their doors offering entertainment, food, drink, discounts, live entertainment and much, much more. A few holiday highlights-- Two Trolleys filled with holiday musicians will ride up and down the corridor for an old-time family tradition offering free rides! Four Roses Bourbon hosts the Second Annual Holiday Cocktail Contest in the restaurants and bars!
Once again, Bardstown Road Aglow will feature musicians singing, bagpipers booming and shops aglowing. There will also be the famous Decorating Contest for every kind of business from car garage to eatery to Dr. Office. The Judges are WAVE-3 Listens Host, Cindi Sullivan, LEO’s famous Bar Belle, Sara Havens and Four Roses Bourbon Master Distiller, Jim Rutledge! Honorary Judges will be riding in foodie style in the Winston’s Holiday Van! Parking and shuttle service will be avail at Winston’s/Sullivan University.
Santa is back! Santa and his elves will ride up and down Baxter, Bardstown and The Loop
in a super hot sled-The 21 C Red Glitter Limo
Santa will arrive at 6:00pm @ Bearno’s in the Highlands for the Commonwealth Bank & Trust Winter Wonderland at Bearno’s in the Highlands .
All Santa picture proceeds will benefit-The Gilda’s Club of Louisville, and Dirty Tease will donate $5 for every official AGLOW T-shirt purchase featuring artwork by local artist, David Green (2010 poster contest winner)
PLUS Participating locations will give FREE colorful Holiday Aglow Bracelets with purchase while supplies last.
