This free walking tour, led by local historian Rick Bell, will explore the history of Louisville’s Big Four Bridge from its days as an important carrier of freight and passenger trains to its current incarnation as a pedestrian/bicycle path.
This 90-minute tour will start at the top of the ramp to the Big Four Bridge, proceed across the bridge and back, for a total distance of approximately 1.5 miles. Free parking is available in the park and on the north side of River Road. (SEE MAP FOR LOCATION OF BIG FOUR BRIDGE AND PARKING.)
Suggestion: Wear your comfortable walking shoes and bring drinking water and sunscreen.
