The Kentucky Humane Society’s 19th annual Tuxes & Tails Benefit Auction and Gala is Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Louisville Marriott Downtown. The presenting sponsor is Brown-Forman and platinum sponsors are Earl and Cathy Zion.
The gala begins at 6 p.m. with a silent auction, open bar and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a three-course dinner and spirited live auction. The celebration continues into the night with music by DJ Ryan Cox, dancing and adoptable pets. The theme is “Starry Night: star bright, star light a forever home I dream of tonight.”
All proceeds benefit the life-saving mission of the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS), a nonprofit private organization that is the state’s largest pet adoption agency and oldest animal welfare organization.
Live auction items include a four-star African safari, vacations in Belize and California wine country, a trip for two to the Masters Golf Tournament, and a deluxe package to a Miami Dolphins game.
KHS finds loving homes for more than 6,000 pets a year. At the KHS S.N.I.P. Clinic, 10,000 owned pets are spayed or neutered a year. Annually more than 7,500 children attend a KHS workshop or summer camp, where they learn to be humane pet guardians.
Tickets are $150 each or $1,800 for a corporate table of eight seats. Sponsorships are also available. To buy tickets, visit www.kyhumane.org or call 502-515-3131.
