The ladies of Pi Lambda Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated have partnered with Kentucky Center for African American Heritage (KCAAH), the Derby City Tea Rose Foundation, Inc. and other civic organizations to encourage women to reclaim their physical, emotional, and mental health. The second annual health symposium will be held from 9 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 27, at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage, 1701 W. Muhammad Ali Boulevard.
The day will begin with “The Doctor’s In the House” consisting of a panel of female physicians to answer questions on issues affecting women. A highlight of the day’s activities is the luncheon featuring keynote speaker, Ms. Charla Young, award winning journalist and President and CEO of Power to Change Communications. The educational and motivational event cost $10 and is open to all women. Tickets may be purchased through Pi Lambda Omega chapter (mail@pilambdaomega.com) or at KCAAH.
