Telling Our Stories through Art
In recognition of Women’s History Month, the Little Loomhouse has invited several women to share their artist visions. “Telling Our Stories through Art” is a multi-media exhibition to represent the cultural and societal contribution of women throughout the ages. Some highlights of the show include Pop Folk Art by Anessa Arehart of Little Wing Studio, fiber art by Loomhouse Board Member Ruth Bennett, and costumes by Tiye Gardner.
“We wanted the artists in this exhibition to represent a cross section of women,” said curator Melissa Amos-Jones. “You will find young and old, black and white, and established and emerging artists. “Telling Our Stories through Art” is an opportunity for all of them to come together as women and share their truths.”
Show opens March 5th, with an Artists’ Reception, free and open to the public, from 11am-4pm. The exhibition will be on display through April 2nd. The participating Artists include: Annessa Arehart, Ardis Moonlight, Brenda Wirth, Caitlin Sollee, Chris Doerflinger, Kate Blodgett, Mari Mujica, Maria Tinnell, Michelle Amos, Ruth Bennett, Tiye Gardner, and Toni Woodard.
