Ward 426 Hosts Perfect Pairing with Olive Oil

What: Chef Shawn Ward, executive chef of Ward 426 and veteran olive oil expert and distributor are teaming up to show patrons how to taste and use Olive Oil as a delicious but healthier choice. Bill Sanders, owner of First Fresh Olive Oil (voted one of the world’s best olive oils), has joined Ward for a pairing at his restaurant. The evening will feature a 5-course olive oil based meal.

Appetizer: Roasted Asparagus over Browned Rice Noodles, French Country Olives, Aged Balsamic and Shaved Parmesan Reggiano.
Salad: Sweet Potato Salad with Citrus Confit, Limoncello Vinaigrette.
Fish Course: Halibut Wrapped in Prosciutto Style Ham, with Fork Smashed Potatoes, Olive Oil and Spring Onions, Shallots, Wild Mushrooms and a Banyuls Vinaigrette.
Meat course: Olive Oil Poached Veal with Olive Oil Poached Lobster, Sauce Choron, Braised Leeks, and Creamy Polenta
Dessert: Pistachio Olive Oil Cake, Vanilla Buttercream, Orange Coulis, Cardamom Ice Cream
Since 1999, Sanders, who lives in Maysville, has lived out his mission to change the way people think about olive oil and offer more Americans a fresh, authentic and affordable extra virgin oil. First Fresh Extra Virgin Olive Oils are all-purpose extra virgin olive oils that can be used for cooking, drizzling (finishing) and dipping. Drizzle over fresh tomatoes, pasta, cheese, and grilled meats, fish and vegetables. Their buttery finish is perfect for making pesto, and even brownies.
Born out of a passion for exceptional food and gracious service, Ward 426 brings an easygoing elegance to one of Louisville's historic neighborhoods. Chef Shawn Ward's down-to-earth approach to upscale dining utilizes the freshest local ingredients in dishes that showcase the peak flavors of the season in simple yet unexpected ways. Opened in 2014, Ward 426 is a partnership between longtime friends Dean Corbett and Shawn Ward, along with Nirmesh Agrawal, former General Manager at Corbett's. Bittner's of Louisville redesigned the space with reclaimed wood, rich upholstery and brass accents for a warm and intimate experience.
