English aristocrats, the Sitwells, all but adopted William Walton in the 1920s. Facades was a succes de scandal with Dame Edith Sitwell’s verse recited with accompaniment of Sir Walton’s music. British society rightly felt it was being mocked… but in such an entertaining way! Teddy conducts the LO in a selection of favorites from this remarkable work. We also welcome the return of violinist Augustin Hadelich to our British-themed concert. Since his visit last season, Hadelich received a Grammy Award and has thrilled audiences in the U.S., China, and Europe as he continues to tour all over the world.
9:45AM: Complimentary Coffee Service opens
