KentuckyOne Health and the Mayor's Healthy Hometown Movement have teamed up to get Louisville area residents to Walk With a Doc. On April 18 at 10 a.m. join KentuckyOne Health at the Iroquois Park amphitheater for the first walk of the year. Walk With a Doc events take place at 10 a.m. every third Saturday of the month, at Iroquois Park near the amphitheater.
Walk With a Doc is a nationwide program that works to empower patients to improve their health through physical activity by exercising side-by-side with their health care providers. Walkers have the opportunity to learn about important health topics, ask medical questions in an informal setting, and receive free blood pressure screenings, refreshments and giveaways. To help make walking a habit, people who participate in at least three walk events receive a Walk With a Doc shirt.
