Learn to cook traditional Italian meals from Tuscan-trained chef Gina Stipo during her new cooking class series Ecco la Cucina “Here’s the Kitchen” at Bourbon Barrel Foods, 1201 Story Ave. The courses take Wednesday, Jan. 14; and Wednesday, Feb. 4. from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Cost is $55 per person, per class. Courses will focus on how to cook Italian winter meals with dishes including risotto and braised meats and students will get to taste everything they make. Stipo received her culinary arts degree from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City before working at several restaurants across the country. Most recently, she lived and trained in Siena, Tuscany in Italy where she ran culinary tours and cooking classes for more than a decade. She’s written two cookbooks and offers private in-home cooking classes.
