Kaviar Forge is offering a weekend workshop to make your own tools! Students will learn about various tool steel and where to find them (both scrap and new). Learn to heat treat hardened steel to create chisels, punches and a hand forged hammer. Students will keep all they make in the class.

Class is held March 24 9AM-5PM & 25 9AM-4PM, 2018 from for $400, which includes all materials. Payment in full and a completed registration form are required to ensure a spot.

A hand forged hammer is an object of beauty. When you make one yourself, you get to feel self-reliant and powerful every time you use it. Blacksmithing is unique among the craft world in that one is able to make one’s own tools. For this reason, many inventors of the past began careers as blacksmiths.

Class sessions are held at the Kaviar Forge adjacent to Kaviar Gallery at 147 Stevenson Ave, Louisville KY.
