With the most tender love letter ever written in music at its heart and a finale of unalloyed joy, Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 is a miracle of symphonic music. Teddy Abrams offers a program reminiscent of the “Omnibus” series of the 1950s, demonstrating and explaining the work with the orchestra’s help before intermission with the complete performance to follow.
CONCERT TALK: Starting at 6:45PM in Whitney Hall, the LO, together with WUOL, offers a free, pre-concert discussion hosted by radio program direction Daniel Gilliam.
