Friday, October 9, 4:30 - 10 p.m.
Saturday, October 10, noon - 10 p.m.
On behalf of the faithful of St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church, we would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our community. In addition to experiencing foods from many cultures, we also invite you to experience some additional “tastes” for your palate.
A Taste of St Michael offers the citizens of Louisville Metro and the surrounding communities an introduction to Orthodoxy. It is an “Expo” that will allow you to not only taste our food, but also our culture and our faith.
St. Michael has been celebrating Orthodoxy in Louisville since the early 1930’s, but our Faith has existed for over 2,000 years. Many have called Orthodoxy a “sensory” experience, so we invite you to feast with ..
your sense of sight on our magnificent church and chapel;
your sense of hearing on our a cappella choir;
your sense of smell on our incense;
your sense of touch on our iconography; and
your sense of taste on our foods.
Our parish is home to a multitude of cultures from around the globe – Bulgarian, Egyptian, Eritrean, Ethiopian, Georgian, Greek, Indian, Jordanian, Lebanese, Palestinian, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Syrian, Ukrainian, and – YES – American! In fact, over 30% of our 900 members are converts to the Faith.
Again, we welcome you and invite you to learn more about our Church and Orthodox Christianity. We truly are a community with a mosaic of cultures . . . celebrating One Faith!
