The Louisville Orchestra welcomes musician, actor, playwright, and author, Storm Large in an upcoming performance at the Mercury Ballroom. Accompanying Storm on piano, will be Teddy Abrams a well-renowned conductor, pianist, clarinetist, and composer. This blend of two incredible talents create a spectacular and breathtaking performance.
Storm Large spent the beginnings of her career singing in clubs with various bands where she gained a strong following. She shot to national prominence in 2006 as a finalist on the CBS show, Rock Star. Since then Storm has sung with National Symphony Orchestra, Kirill Gerstein, John Doe, and George Clinton. Storm has taken the stage performing in multiple cabaret performances including her starring role in Portland Center Stage's production of Cabaret with Wade McCollum. Recently Storm has been performing with national orchestras including The New York Pops Orchestra, The Cincinnati Symphony, The Houston Symphony, and our local Louisville Orchestra.
Teddy Abrams is a widely acclaimed conductor, as well as an established pianist. In September 2014, Abrams assumed the position of Music Director of the Louisville Orchestra after concluding his tenure as Assistant Conductor of the Detroit Symphony and Resident Conductor of the MAV Symphony Orchestra in Budapest. Doubling as an accomplished pianist, Abrams has appeared as a soloist with a number of orchestras including playing and conducting the Ravel Piano Concerto with the Jacksonville Symphony in the fall of 2013. In addition, Abrams has performed chamber music with the St. Petersburg String Quartet, Menahem Pressler, Gilbert Kalish, Time for Three and John Adams in addition to annual appearances at the Olympic Music Festival.
