Two of the nation’s most respected food writers: Adrian Miller & Toni Tipton-Martin will join Chef Edward Lee as he moderates a panel discussion about the current state of Soul Food in America and the trends that we are seeing in Southern Food. Immediately following the panel talk, there will be a book signing by the two authors of their seminal books:
Soul Food: The Surprising Story of an American Cuisine, One Plate at a Time, Adrian Miller
- Received the 2014 James Beard Book Foundation Award for Outstanding Reference and Scholarship
The Jemima Code: Two Centuries of African American Cookbooks, Toni Tipton-Martin
This event is free to the public. This event also celebrates the conclusion of the first year of the Smoke & Soul internship program. Four interns who have completed the Youth Build apprentice program with Chef Edward Lee will be celebrating their graduation.
