How big is the Sun? How far away are Jupiter and the other planets? Members of the Louisville Astronomical Society will explain the size and scale of our local corner of space in the Library’s latest Fast Class—The Size of Our Solar System. Telescopes will be available to look at the moon, Jupiter and the stars—weather permitting—following the talk.
The class will be led by Frank Nelson, an amateur astronomer who has been looking at the night sky since he got his first telescope in the early 1980s.
LFPL’s Fast Classes are one-time educational events covering a variety of topics—from Louisville’s new soccer team to astronomy—taught by professors and local experts.
