The Filson Historical Society will host a lecture on Thursday, December 8th at The Filson Historical Society at 6:00 pm. Sculptor Ed Hamilton will discuss his body of work and his artistic and technical process. The event will be free to the public, but reservations are required to ensure seating.
Ed Hamilton is one of Kentucky and the nation’s most distinguished sculptors. He has created countless public monuments to our country’s past, commemorating such figures and events as Abraham Lincoln, Booker T. Washington, the African American soldiers of the Civil War, Medgar Evers, Joe Louis, the Amistad Incident, and many others. Ed Hamilton will discuss the vast body of work for which he has received national acclaim and shares the creative and technical processes that bring these sculptures to life.
