Kentucky Shakespeare announces their 2016 Shakespeare in the Parks tour. The seven-actor, 90-minute ROMEO AND JULIET will tour to twenty area parks this March through May, presenting free Shakespeare in various neighborhoods.“The first year we started with nine parks, last year we served eighteen parks, and this year we are delighted to serve twenty parks and neighborhoods throughout our area with free Shakespeare! This is one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays and one the most enduring love stories of all time,” says Producing Artistic Director Matt Wallace. “This touring production of "ROMEO AND JULIET" is really the kick-off to our upcoming summer-long festival for the city of Louisville.” He further added, “We thank the Gheens Foundation, the many members of Louisville Metro Council, the Mayors of Lyndon, Jeffersontown, Jeffersonville, New Albany, White Clay, and other generous individuals who have helped us put together this special event for the families of their districts. This year we’ve also included rain space backup locations for each park so the performance can go on regardless of weather!”
