On December 5th, 1933 the thirteen year-long Prohibition was repealed, and 8UP bands together with four fellow establishments to celebrate the freedom to celebrate. With the help of Jim Beam and Contratto, 8UP will be joined by Meta, Doc Crow’s, Down One and Proof on Main in raising a glass (or several) for this historic Day. Bar hoppers will be provided with a passport to present at each participating drinkery. Those stamped by all five locations will be eligible to win prizes.
8UP will feature special cocktails with names that could be right out of “Guys and Dolls” and evoke the spirit of that era. The Hanky Panky – Bombay Dry Gin, Sweet Vermouth, Contratto Fernet and an orange twist, the Side Car – Copper & Kings Amber, Combier Original, lemon juice, and a sugar rim, as well as the Fallen Angel, Scofflaw, and Chrysanthemum.
