As part of the Louisville Free Public Library’s Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War – a nationally traveling exhibition currently on display at the Main Library – LFPL will host a free performance of Sic Semper Tyrannis: The Life of John Wilkes Booth. Presented by The Frazier History Museum,the program explores one of America’s most infamous and complex personalities.
The story will be told from several different viewpoints as three historic re-enactors portray multiple characters in this theatrical interpretation of Booth’s life. From his upbringing in 1800s Maryland to the events that made this well-known actor infamous, Sic Semper Tyrannis takes a compelling look at the assassin of President Abraham Lincoln.
